My small group and I in our film class were assigned to create a short film! This was at first, a very stressful assignment, but once we actually got to making the film, it was such a creative and enjoyable process. Although we had both limited time and resources as a group, we were able to create something that we were very proud of! Maggie and Mary were our actors, while Maddy, Stephany, and I were the directors/editors. We focused on a simple story and concept, a haunted classroom, but drew in on the shots and details. We wanted to create something suspenseful and interesting with good camerawork, so, here is the product!
The shots are honestly my favorite part (aside from the acting). I really enjoyed the close-up shots of both Maggie's face, along with her hand. The close-ups of her face were able to express fear and confusion, while the close-ups of her hand showed her struggle. I honestly loved the whole door scene, where Maggie was trying to get the door open, but it was locked. I think we all did a great job with shooting that part.
The editing process for this was quite simple. I used CapCut on my computer and put all the scenes together. I flipped a few around, order-wise, and cut them to leave out the parts where the clips went too long.
